Get to know your groomer:
Hey, my name is Christian Howell!
January will be a year of me being in this business! I have had previous training in a groom shop which I am very thankful for. The overall care of the pet and making sure that the owner gets a quality cut is what is most important to me! I always want your pet to feel comfortable and know that they are in a safe environment! You can contact The Vet Depot to schedule a groom. I offer full grooms, mini grooms and of course, baths! I also do puppy grooms, which are mainly for getting the puppy used to grooming! I aim for honesty between the owner and the groomer. I hope to build relationships between myself and clients and I look forward to meeting you and your pet!
Fun fact: I love to sing and do it often at my church, First Baptist Church of Flora.
Grooming Services

A full groom is a comprehensive grooming session designed to ensure a pet—typically a dog—looks and feels their best.
This service includes:
Bathing: The pet is washed with shampoo and conditioner suited to their coat type, often including a conditioning treatment to keep the fur soft and healthy.
Brushing: The coat is thoroughly brushed to remove tangles, mats, and loose fur. This helps prevent shedding and keeps the coat smooth.
Haircuts: If needed, the pet’s fur is trimmed or shaped according to breed standards or owner preferences. This can include cutting the hair around the face, paws, and body.
Nail Trimming: The pet’s nails are clipped to a safe length to prevent discomfort or injury.
Ear Cleaning: The ears are inspected and cleaned to remove wax and debris, which helps prevent infections.
Teeth Brushing: Some grooms include brushing the pet’s teeth to maintain oral health and fresh breath.
Anal Gland Expression: This is done if necessary to relieve discomfort and prevent issues with the anal glands.

A mini groom is a streamlined version of a full groom, focusing on essential care while being quicker and less extensive.
This service includes:
Bathing: A quick wash with shampoo and conditioner suited to the pet's coat type to refresh them.
Brushing: A basic brushing to remove tangles and loose fur, helping to keep the coat neat.
Nail Trimming: Clipping the nails to a manageable length for comfort.
Ear Check: A brief inspection and cleaning of the ears if needed.
A mini groom is ideal for maintaining a pet’s appearance and hygiene between more thorough grooming sessions..

A puppy groom is a gentle and introductory grooming session tailored to the needs of young dogs. It focuses on familiarizing puppies with grooming procedures while ensuring their comfort.
This service includes:
Gentle Bathing: A mild shampoo is used to clean the puppy’s coat, followed by a thorough rinse to ensure their skin and fur are clean and healthy.
Light Brushing: Soft brushing to get the puppy accustomed to the sensation and to help manage any initial tangles.
Nail Trimming: A careful trim of the puppy’s nails to prevent them from getting too long, using gentle techniques to avoid discomfort.
Ear Cleaning: A gentle wipe or inspection of the ears to remove any debris and prevent potential infections.
Socialization: The grooming process is used to help the puppy get comfortable with handling, brushing, and other grooming activities, making future sessions easier.
The focus is on creating a positive experience that builds trust and makes grooming a pleasant part of the puppy’s routine.

Conditioning: A conditioner is applied to moisturize and detangle the coat, leaving it soft and manageable.
Rinsing: The pet is thoroughly rinsed to ensure all shampoo and conditioner residues are removed, preventing skin irritation.
Drying: The pet is gently dried using towels and/or a high-velocity dryer, ensuring they are comfortable and avoiding any chills.
